Pennsylvania Grandmom Charged With Selling Pot

SARVER, Pa. (AP) -- The state attorney general's office has charged a 64-year-old Pennsylvania grandmother with selling as much as 100 pounds of marijuana annually since 2009.

Candice Kelly, of Sarver, was originally charged last fall after authorities say they found 64 pounds worth of hydroponically grown marijuana and nearly $400,000 in cash at her home in Buffalo Township. Kelly's attorney then, Warner Mariani, tells The Associated Press those charges were withdrawn due to search-and-seizure and probable cause issues.

Tuesday's arrest includes charges based on the same allegations, but which are now backed up by a state grand jury report.

Kelly's new attorney didn't immediately return a call for comment.

State police believe Kelly has been buying large quantities of marijuana from a northern California man at $3,300 per pound, then reselling it at a profit of $100 per pound.
