Drexel Tops Hofstra 77-74

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP) — Frantz Massenat scored a career-high 32 points to lead Drexel over Hofstra 77-74 on Wednesday.

Drexel (11-9, 3-4 Colonial Athletic Association) shot 47 percent from the floor. Massenat was 6 of 9 on 3-pointers and had nine assists. Chris Fouch added 19 points, including four treys.

Zeke Upshaw led Hofstra (7-15, 3-4) with 27 points. Jamall Robinson had 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Dion Nesmith added 13 points and eight assists.

Drexel made its first four shots of the game, including treys by Massenat and Fouch, to go up early at 11-2 and maintained its cushion to lead by eight at the half at 40-32.

Hofstra took the lead on a Robinson trey at 50-47 with 13:37 left, and the lead was traded four times — with four ties — down the stretch. Massenat and Kazembe Abif made layups on consecutive possessions to go up four with 1:34 left.
