Police Investigate Attempted Luring Incident In Camden

CAMDEN (CBS)--The Camden County Police Department is investigating an attempted luring incident that occurred Monday afternoon in East Camden.

A 17-year-old girl was walking east on North 36th Street near the intersection of Hayes Avenue around 12:30 p.m. when a white Ford van slowed down and began driving alongside of her.

The driver of the van began to wave his arms motioning for the victim to come closer to him and proceeded to say something that she could not hear.

The female ignored the driver and the van pulled away, but then returned moments later and the driver again tried to get the woman's attention by waving his arms.

After she ignored him again, the van left the area and was last seen near 36th Street and River Road.

The white Ford van is described as having New Jersey license plates, no back windows and was reportedly filled with trash and a ladder.

The driver is described as a light-skinned Hispanic male, in his 40s, wearing a red and black sweater and black knit cap.

Anyone with information is asked to immediately call the CCPD tip line at 856-757-7042.
