Dangerous Cold Returns…Watching Southern Storm

By Kathy Orr

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The latest arctic blast will continue to create gusty winds and drive wind chills below zero Tuesday morning.

A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect for Philadelphia's northern & western suburbs, the Lehigh Valley and Poconos until 10am Tuesday. Morning wind chills will range from -10 to -15 degrees.

The sun will be out Tuesday, but high temperatures will struggle to make it to 18 degrees. That is about 25 degrees below average.

A developing Winter Storm will bring significant snow to the Southern and Mid-Atlantic States. The storm may come close enough to bring accumulating snow to Southern New Jersey (coating to 2") and Central & Southern Delaware (2-4" in Sussex County).  We will keep you updated on this evolving storm and any changes in its track!

Later this week, the jet stream will finally lift north and flatten out, allowing for some milder Pacific air to return.  This means a slow warm-up in the forecast with high temperatures closer to average by the weekend.
