AAA Mid-Atlantic: New Jersey Gas Prices Still Falling

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Motorists are still seeing lower prices at the pumps in New Jersey.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gasoline in the state on Friday was $3.25, down 3 cents from last week. That's also lower than the price from a year ago, when motorists were paying $3.33.

The drop marks the third straight week that gas prices have fallen in New Jersey.

The national average price was $3.29, down a penny from last week. That's also nearly the same price from a year ago, when motorists were paying $3.32.

Analysts say the lower prices are due to falling demand, spurred by severe winter weather in recent weeks. But they warn prices could rise in coming weeks, as seasonal maintenance gets under way at refineries.
