Report: Carmelo Anthony Told Sixers Fan To 'Go "F" Yourself'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Things aren't going well for Carmelo Anthony and the New York Knicks this season.

The team is performing well below expectations, the players are rebelling against the coach, and there are rumors that Anthony may be on his way out. So the mood at Madison Square Garden may have been sort of grim on Wednesday night as the Knicks lost to the last-place Sixers, and fans started to boo.

The New York Post reports that Anthony got so frustrated, he took it out on a Sixers fan.

In the final minutes of another disastrous Knicks loss, a fan shouted at Carmelo Anthony "Nice defense, Melo." According to an eyewitness, Anthony shot back "Go f— yourself," drawing a reaction from other fans in the area.

After the game, a fan on Twitter wrote "Carmelo told me to F off. Huge Philly fan and I got in his head.''

Earlier this season, Anthony took aim at a Twitter follower who was unhappy with his performance.

The Knicks, at 15-27 are now just a game ahead of the Sixers, at 14-28. The Sixers were predicted to be one of the worst teams in the NBA this year, and came into the game having lost six of their last seven games.
