CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. (CBS) – Cyclists on the Schuylkill River Trail will soon be able to stop for a beer at a new brewery.

Conshohocken Brewing Company is set to open in early spring 2014.

The brewery will offer an on-site tap room for visitors to enjoy pints of beer, as well as a rear deck just off the bike path.

The owners say head brewer Andrew Horne, a Villanova grad who began his career at Yards, will be developing signature brews, small batch pilot beers and even seasonal ales.

“Coming home to Pennsylvania and having the opportunity to explore and brew new creative beers is the perfect scenario for me,” Horne says. “I’m hoping to bring my experience with West Coast styles and my knowledge of local tastes together to create beers that will push the envelope, and draw on the Philadelphia area’s rich brewing tradition.”
