Saint Joe's Routs Penn 85-68 In City Rivalry
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Langston Galloway hit 6 of 7 from beyond the arc and scored 20 points as Saint Joseph's routed Penn 85-68 on Saturday night in a matchup of city rivals.
Saint Joseph's (12-5, 2-1 Atlantic 10) went on a 38-6 run — which included 10 3-pointers and a stretch of 21 straight points — in the first half, extending a five-point lead into a 57-20 advantage just before halftime.
Saint Joseph's shot 56.4 percent from the field and made 16 of 24 from beyond the arc. Galloway was 7 of 10 from the field, while DeAndre Bembry and Chris Wilson added 13 points apiece.
Halil Kanacevic led Saint Joseph's with 15 rebounds and 12 assists. The RedHawks out-rebounded Penn 36-25.
Tony Hicks led the Quakers (3-11, 1-0) with 15 points.
Saint Joseph's has now won eight of its last nine games while Penn has lost eight of its last nine.
