Hazmat Incident Sickens Teacher At New Jersey High School

HIGHTSTOWN, N.J. (CBS) –- A hazmat situation at a high school in New Jersey Friday morning sent a teacher to the hospital.

The incident happened at about 8:45 a.m. at Hightstown High School on Leshin Lane in Mercer County.

According to authorities, a chemistry teacher passed out in the classroom possibly in reaction to a chemical spill. The teacher was taken to a local hospital in an unknown condition.

As a precaution, students at the high school were evacuated and were transported to nearby Peddie School.

The incident remains under investigation.
