16-Year-Old Shot, Robbed After Buying Drugs In Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Del. (CBS)—Police are investigating after a 16-year-old was shot and robbed after buying drugs.

Officers arrived to the scene of the 1500 block of W. 5th Street after receiving reports of shots fired.

Police found the victim with a gunshot wound to the right leg.

Authorities believe the victim purchased marijuana and was returning home when he was approached by an armed suspect.

The suspect stole his property and then shot him in the leg.

The victim fled into a residence and contacted police.

He was transported to Christiana Hospital where he is listed in serious but stable condition.

The suspect is described as a black male, thin build, wearing a puffy black jacket.

An investigation is ongoing.
