According to police, the man was in the store for several minutes before bringing a candy bar to the checkout area. When the employee approached the suspect to ring him out, the employee turned her back to him. When she turned back around, police say the suspect had a plastic bag in the shape of a gun pointed at her demanding money. When the employee yelled for the store manager, the suspect ran from the store without taking any money.

Police say he fled on foot and was last seen north on Aramingo Avenue.

About two hours later, police say a man entered Dunkin' Donuts at the 700 block of East Girard Avenue and approached the counter and asked for a donut.

When the employee placed the donut in a bag and handed the bag to him, police say the suspect pulled a bag from his waist area and held it as if he had a gun inside demanding money. After the employee opened the register and gave the suspect an undetermined amount of money, police say the suspect walked out of the store and fled in an unknown direction.

Police describe the suspect as a white male, 40 years-of-age, 5'8"-5'10", 160 pounds, light complexion, mustache with a light beard, thin build, wearing a gray hooded jacket, black shirt, blue jeans, black knit hat and white sneakers.
