One Dead, Four Wounded In Trenton Drive-By Shooting

TRENTON, N.J. (CBS) -- One person is dead and four others are wounded after a drive-by shooting in Mercer County, New Jersey.

It happened around 10 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Jersey Street and Home Avenue in Trenton.

Police say a crowd of people were gathered in front of store when someone inside a vehicle, traveling along Home Avenue, opened fire into the crowd. The vehicle then sped off.

At least five people were struck by the gunfire.

Brandon Varlow, 24, of Trenton, was shot multiple times and pronounced dead at Capital Health Regional Medical Center.

Three other men and one woman, all who were unidentified, were also taken to the hospital with non-life threatening gunshot wounds.
