Report: Pa. Drivers Are (Shockingly) Worse Than Those In NJ, NY

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Cue the (road) rage: Turns out Pennsylvania drivers are much worse than those in New York or New Jersey.

The new report, compiled by carinsurancecomparison.com, has Pennsylvania ranked 15th for states with the worst drivers – far worse than neighboring New Jersey or New York.

The company says the rankings were based on data culled from multiple sources, including the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the National Motorists Association, and Mothers Against Drink Driving. Five categories, such as "Tickets" and "Drunk Driving," were added together to figure out each state's score. The higher the number, the worse the state ranked.

According to carinsurancecomparison.com, New York has the 22nd worst drivers in the country, while – deep breaths! – New Jersey came in a not-so-terrible 32.

And while Louisiana was number one, 15th has to sting for Pennsylvanians, who tend to label those from New Jersey and New York as the worst on the road.
