Beekeeper Workshop For Beginners

By Phran Novelli

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - If you've ever thought about maybe becoming a beekeeper, tonight you can learn more about it at a FREE two-hour workshop from 7 to 9 pm at the University of Delaware, in Room 132 of the Townsend Building at 531 S. College Avenue in Newark.

The New Castle County beekeepers designed this workshop for total novices, so if you're not a beekeeper but have wondered what it's all about, here's your chance to learn how to get started in beekeeping and how wonderful it can be to have these pollinators on your property to help gardens near you produce more fruits and vegetables while you feed the bees with flowers you grow, and then share their honey too.

This two-hour workshop is free, but space is limited, so if you'd like to go tonight, email Bill Leitzinger at NCCBeekeepers@gmail.com to register.

This time next year, you could be giving your own jars of honey as gifts!
