DEPTFORD, N.J., (CBS) — Winter storm or not, shoppers pitched tents well in advance of Black Friday deals outside the Best Buy in Deptford.

“Let’s just say the tent lifted up so that was an experience in itself,” says Sumara Rembert describing the strong wind on Tuesday night.

Rembert wanted to be first in line so badly that she set up a tent on Monday afternoon.

“Well you know a few years ago we came a little late and weren’t able to get the items that we wanted so we decided we’re going to come out a little earlier,” says Rembert looking over two space heaters in her tent.

This year Best Buy will open its doors at 6 p.m. on Thursday as more and more stores are creeping further into Thanksgiving Day.

Tickets will be handed out up to two hours before the doors open to get big ticket deals like the Samsumg 65” LED TV for $999.

Phil Dunne who is second in line at Best Buy in Deptford after setting up his tent Wednesday morning says the deals are worth waiting in the rain.

“Things are like half price so if you don’t have a lot of money to spend you can get good stuff at half price,” says Dunne.
