Man Charged After Tied Dog Found In Pennsylvania Creek

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. (AP) -- Police have been searching for the owner of a pit bull that was rescued from a Pennsylvania creek after a construction worker saw the animal struggling in the water with its two front legs tied together.

Lower Swatara police say a microchip embedded in the dog identified its owner as 38-year-old Lamont Harris, of Middletown.

A construction worker told police he found the dog while working on a bridge over Swatara Creek on Nov. 11. The worker has begun the process of adopting the dog.

Police say the dog has a fractured hip and wounds from being tied up.

Police have an arrest warrant for Harris, but have been unable to locate him.
