Driver Killed In Crash At SEPTA Station In South Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A man is dead after he was ejected from a vehicle that crashed into a SEPTA subway station in South Philadelphia.

The accident happened just before 6:00 a.m. Sunday at Broad Street and Oregon Avenue.

Police say the unidentified man, 54, got into an argument with another man, climbed into an SUV, and then sped off eastbound on Oregon Avenue. The driver tried to make a turn onto Broad Street when he lost control of the SUV. The vehicle went over the median and crashed into the front entrance to the Oregon SEPTA station, ejecting the man.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the victim was not immediately released.

The accident remains under investigation.
