Philadelphia International Airport Unveils The Revamped Terminal F

PHILADELPHIA (CBS)--Philadelphia International Airport has unveiled the revamped and expanded Terminal F, one of its busiest terminals.
The project was more than two years in the making.
The ceremonial ribbon cutting signaled a new lease on life for Terminal F, which had become too small to handle the 5 million plus passengers who use the facility every year.
The original Hub has doubled in size to 60,000 square feet and features high end retail shops and customer oriented services.
Airport CEO Mark Gale says there are also more food and beverage choices.
"It's difficult to imagine in the previous past that we only had five concessions here. Today we have 20, four times as many, seating over 300 people."
In addition there are two banks of monitors showing arriving and departing flights and a shuttle bus service designed to move passengers more efficiently to their gates.
This is just phase one of $127 million project. Still to come, a new baggage claim facility on the arrivals road, additional amenities and security screening lanes.
