Eagles Fan Attends 250th Straight Home Game

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – They say three is the magic number. For Eagles fan John Hartnett, it was 250.

Hartnett, along with 60,000 of his closest friends, watched the Eagles break their ten game losing streak on Sunday against Washington. The 13-month long streak seemed like forever for most, but that wasn't the case for Hartnett, who was attending his 250th straight Eagles home game.

"I've had Eagles season tickets since 1972, but the streak started in '83," Hartnett, 58 years-old, told Glen Macnow and Ike Reese on the 94WIP Eagles Pregame show on Sunday. "When was the last time I missed a game? I was able to go back and go through, and probably realized at about 100 [games] that I was on a streak."

Hartnett has been through seven head coaches during the streak, and has seen 24 quarterbacks start games for the Eagles. The total home attendance during Hartnett's streak is over 15,000,000.

There were five NFC Championship Games,  one Super Bowl appearance (which John attended), and as most Eagles fans know, zero Super Bowl wins. There have been two work stoppages in the NFL. Throughout it all, Hartnett loved every minute.

"It was easy. For me, it was easy," Hartnett said of attending 250 in a row, as he received an ovation from the crowd watching the show. Hartnett later joined in singing the Eagles fight song with the Eagles pep band, the crowd, and WIP personalities Macnow, Reese, and Howard Eskin.
