Frontier Adds Flights From Wilmington-New Castle

By Jim Donovan: Frontier Airlines has announced that it will add nonstop service from Wilmington- New Castle Airport in Wilmington, Del. (ILG) to Atlanta, Ga. (ATL) and Detroit, Mich. (DTW) starting April 29, 2014.  To kick-off the new service, fares as low as $49 to Atlanta and $39 to Detroit are being made available online at FlyFrontier.com until Nov. 16.

November 16th is the same date that the airline inaugurates service to Fort Meyers, Florida.

The addition of these three new cities brings the total number of routes served from the Wilmington/Philadelphia area to seven: Atlanta; Chicago-Midway; Denver; Detroit; Fort Myers; Orlando; and Tampa. Frontier had offered service to Houston too, but dropped the service due to low passenger loads.

Frontier is operating at about 90 percent capacity in Wilmington. New Castle Airport director Stephen Williams said the facility has processed more than 70,000 passengers since Frontier began operating in July, roughly equally split between departures and arrivals.
