Police: Drunken Bensalem Woman Attacked Teenage Girl

BENSALEM, Pa. (CBS) – Police in Bensalem say a 50-year-old woman was arrested for attacking a 14-year-old while under the influence of alcohol.

On Oct. 31, 50-year-old Lori Yiashia, from the 2200 block of Ogden Avenue, reportedly drove to a location on the 2400 block of Ogden Avenue where the girl and other children were outside and began yelling profanities at the group before driving off.

Minutes later, Yiashia returned to the scene and exchanged words with the victim, then got out of the car and slapped the teen in the face, pulled her hair and scratched her.

Yiashia then fled the scene in her vehicle with her 15-year-old daughter inside the car.

Witnesses say Yiashia smelled of alcohol and appeared intoxicated, and police who arrived at her home following the incident corroborated those reports.

Yiashia was taken into police custody where a blood test was performed, revealing that the suspect's blood alcohol level was .19.

Yiashia is now facing charges including the welfare of a child, driving under the influence, and reckless endangerment. She was sent to Bucks County prison in lieu of 10 percent of $100,000 bail.
