Choose Garden Ornaments For Four Seasons

By Phran Novelli

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Choosing garden ornaments that are weatherproof is smart for so many reasons.

First, you don't have to pick them up and put them away as the seasons change - it's a huge pain in the neck (and back) every spring and fall to move heavy pots, pedestals, statuary and birdbaths. Plus, you don't have to find a place to store all that stuff, you can just leave it out all year.

But besides how much easier it makes your life, it also gives your garden structure year 'round. By choosing materials such as metal, stone, or some of the newer resins and other lightweight materials specifically designed to withstand four-seasons of the elements, you ensure that your garden has points of interest all year long.

Like a gazing globe on a pedestal that plays the part of a snowman in winter, reflects the blossoms in spring, shimmers in the summer sun and then takes on the mystical character of a fortune teller's ball, as the spiders weave their webs around it in the fall...just in time for Halloween.
