Teen Killed In Northeast Crash Trying To Save Stepfather

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A teenager is dead and three others are injured after an accident in Northeast Philadelphia Saturday.

It happened around 12:30 p.m. near Red Lion and Norcom Roads.

Police say a car drove off the road and went into the parking lot of the Philadelphia Jet Center where it struck an empty paratransit van.

A 17-year-old teenager was pronounced dead at the scene. He was reportedly trying to save the life of his stepdad, who suffered a medical emergency behind the wheel.

The teen's 51-year-old stepdad, along with two 15-year-old boys, were all taken to the hospital for treatment.

The accident remains under investigation.
