Del. Police Seek Driver Wanted In Connection With Hit-Run

WILMINGTON, Del. (CBS) – Delaware police are reaching out to the public for help finding a driver who struck a 44-year-old Wilmington man.

The accident occurred at 6:43 p.m. on Kirkwood Highway just west of Evelyn Drive.

Police say a pedestrian was walking east on the sidewalk by the westbound lanes of Kirkwood Highway when a large SUV veered from the right lane onto the shoulder.

The passenger-side side-view mirror of the vehicle struck the pedestrian's chest, knocking him to the ground, and the vehicle drove off.

The SUV is described as tan, cream or yellow, and its passenger-side side-view mirror was damaged in the incident.

The pedestrian was treated at Christiana Hospital for head and arm injuries then released.
