PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Pennsylvania's second-in-command will spend the night in the hospital after an episode of lightheadedness Monday afternoon.
A spokesman for Lt. Governor Jim Cawley said Monday night that his boss was being admitted for an overnight stay at a Harrisburg hospital as a precautionary measure, as he awaited the results of tests.
Cawley's spokesman says the Lt. Governor was presiding over a session of the state Senate around mid-afternoon when he began to feel lightheaded. He stepped down from the rostrum, but at no time lost consciousness. The Capitol nurse recommended the he go to a hospital for further examination, where he was reported to be awake and alert.
His spokesman says the 44 year-old Cawley got a clean bill of health after a physical examination this past summer.
