LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. (CBS)— Police say a 15-year-old suffered a graze wound to the head after a gun accidentally discharged Friday afternoon in Whitemarsh Township.

Whitemarsh Police responded at about 3:31 p.m. to a home on the 2300 block of Mulberry Lane in the Lafayette Hill section for a reported gunshot victim.

Officers found that the 15-year-old resident of the home had brought several guns downstairs into the kitchen to show a friend.

During the handling of the weapons, a gun discharged and the 15-year-old resident sustained a graze wound to the head.

The victim was taken to Temple University Hospital for treatment and later released.

Investigators interviewed the victim at the hospital and evidence was collected at the scene throughout the evening.

As a result of this investigation, police say a juvenile petition was filed in the interest of a 16-year-old male and he was detained at the Montgomery County Youth Center.
