PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A Philadelphia bakery that has something of a cult following is getting national recognition for its snacks and desserts.

Fodor’s Travel Guide has named Beiler’s Bakery “one of America’s 20 best Dessert Spots.”

Tuesday through Saturday for the last 27 years, the bakery, which is tucked away in Reading Terminal, has boasted a line that wraps throughout the Market.

Spencer Goldberg says he’s gone to Beiler’s at least three times a week for the last 20 years for one main reason.

“Beiler’s cinnamon buns. The cinnamon buns.”

Others say there isn’t just one thing that keeps them coming back.

“Everything I tried has been fantastic. I mean, you can watch them being made. You’re never going to get a donut fresher than this.”

Kevin Beiler, the manager at Beiler’s, says he was raised on the food and has a hard time picking out what’s best about the bakery.

“I love anything with cinnamon, so I’m a sticky bun fan. And apple fritter is probably one of my top ones as well.”

But Beiler says what he thinks really keeps people coming back is the freshness of the food and the friendliness of the workers.
