Storms In The Area Bring Heavy Rains, High Winds And Airport Delays
ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) — Storms are blowing through eastern Pennsylvania, bringing heavy rain and high winds.
The severe weather has prompted flight delays averaging 45 minutes at Philadelphia International Airport, while schools in Philadelphia and elsewhere canceled extra-curricular activities.
The National Weather Service says flooding is possible along small streams and in poor drainage areas in Lackawanna and Luzerne counties.
The weather service placed several counties in eastern Pennsylvania under a severe thunderstorm warning, with radar tracking a fast-moving line of storms capable of producing winds above 60 mph.
Pike and Wayne counties in northeastern Pennsylvania are under a tornado watch.
