8 Hospitalized In West Oak Lane Bus Fire

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – SEPTA officials say eight people were hospitalized due to smoke inhalation after a bus fire in West Oak Lane Monday night.

The fire broke out at about 7:12 p.m. in the right wheel area of a Route 22 bus near Broad Street and Olney Avenue.

The Route 22 bus runs from Warminster to the Olney Transportation Center.

SEPTA officials say eight passengers suffered smoke inhalation and were taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center.

The cause of the fire has not been determined at this time.
