UPDATE: 13 Hospitalized In Bus Accident In Atlantic City

ATLANTIC CITY (CBS) -- Police say 13 people were hospitalized following an accident involving a bus and two other vehicles Friday afternoon in Atlantic City.

The accident happened around 2 p.m. on the 1000 block of Arctic Avenue.

Atlantic City Police say a Dodge Intrepid traveling east on Arctic Avenue collided with a Ford Excusion traveling south on Virginia Avenue.  The Intrepid was then pinned between the SUV and an NJ Transit bus.  The bus was picking up a wheelchair passenger when it was struck.

Emergency crews used the Jaws of Life to remove three people from the Intrepid.

Police say a total of 13 people were taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center including eight passengers on the bus and five others from the other two vehicles.

Traffic is delayed in the area.
