PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia police are investigating the discovery of afterbirth behind a center city fast food restaurant.
Police say it happened around 6:30 a.m. behind the McDonald's restaurant in the 900 block of Market Street, when an employee found a white container that was stained with blood.
It was taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where the contents were identified as a human placenta.
The police investigation included a search of dumpsters in the area.
