Delivery Person Killed In Delaware After Being Crushed By Package

WILMINGTON, Del. (CBS)—Troopers are investigating the death of a delivery person who was crushed while removing computer equipment from a truck in north Wilmington.

The incident occurred on September 30th at approximately 10:58 a.m.as a 43-year-old man, from Baltimore, MD, began to unload a package that contained a large piece of computer equipment from a delivery truck.

The package was being delivered to an office on 2500 Grubb Road.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the package was placed on the truck's lift by the man, who then fell to the ground. The package fell from the lift and onto the man, crushing him.

He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Detective are continuing their investigation. They do not believe there was any foul play.

The body has been turned over to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
