Poll: Chris Christie Has Big Lead In Re-Election Bid
TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — A new poll finds Gov. Chris Christie maintaining a large lead over Democratic challenger Barbara Buono.
A Quinnipiac University poll out Wednesday shows 64 percent of likely voters back the Republican governor. While 30 percent support Buono. That's an even bigger lead than a Monmouth University poll showed last month.
Quinnipiac Poll director Maurice Carroll says there are not many promising signs for Buono.
She trails Christie among women and independent voters, and few voters remain undecided or say they are likely to change their minds.
The election is Nov. 5.
The telephone survey of 1,249 likely New Jersey voters was conducted from Sept. 19-22. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.8 percentage points.
