Police Seek Pickup Driver Who Ran Over Another Driver Near K. of P. Mall and Fled

By Brad Segall

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. (CBS) -- Upper Merion police are asking for help from the public as they continue to look for a driver wanted in connection with a hit-and-run crash in front of the King of Prussia Mall one week ago today.

Police say it started shortly after 9:30pm as a minor accident in the area of Mall Boulevard, when a vehicle stopped at a red light was rear-ended by a pickup truck.

Upper Merion detective Andrew Rathfon says the driver of the car got out to talk with the other driver and inspect the damage.

"The actor (driver of the second vehicle) reversed his vehicle and fled from the scene," Rathfon describes.  "The victim clung to the mirror of the car and was dragged a certain distance before he eventually fell off and was run over by the rear wheels."

The victim remains hospitalized with significant injuries.

Police are looking for a newer model white Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup truck with rear half-doors.  The driver fled north on Route 202 toward Norristown.

Police say they have some surveillance footage, albeit limited, and add they have received several tips that are being actively pursued.
