New Social Media Site Created To Help With Home Improvement

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A new social network is helping users hit the nail on the head when it comes to finding the right contractor and design inspiration.
What does a tech entrepreneur do when he's between jobs and building a home? Matt Ehrlichman created "Porch" -- a social network for home improvement.
"When homeowners are going through the process of trying to improve their home," he said, "whether it's a big project like the one I was taking on when I started this company, or finding a plumber or somebody to fix their roof, it's just a pain right now to have any idea what to do or how much it will cost and porch is just about making it really easy to get the right person for you."
Porch users can browse for ideas and recommendations, create an online scrapbook, and share endorsements as well as before and after photos.
Porch is free for all users, but like LinkedIn, they do offer a business tools package for a monthly fee to professionals that includes more insights.
