Pedestrian Struck By Car, Then Hit With Ticket

WILMINGTON, Del., (CBS) – A man was struck by a vehicle in Wilmington – then hit with a ticket.

Wilmington Police say a 49-year-old man was struck by a vehicle while crossing W.11th Street at N. Washington Street around 1:20 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

Police say an investigation indicated that the vehicle turned at a green light, and although the victim was in a crosswalk, he disregarded a red pedestrian signal.

The victim was charged with disregarding a pedestrian signal.  He was taken to Christiana Hospital and is listed in stable condition.

The driver was charged with driving without a valid license and no valid proof of insurance.
