Constitution Center Begins 'Coffee & Conversation' Series

By John McDevitt

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The National Constitution Center is hosting a series of free town hall meetings of "coffee and Constitutional conversation" over the next few months on timely topics and how they relate to you.

The series was launched today, Constitution Day, and the topic was "Drones and Your Privacy."

Constitution Center president and CEO Jeffrey Rosen says the debates will cover the Constitutional controversies of the  day, and it will be up to you to decide which side to take.

"We have a mission from Congress to disseminate information about the US Constitution on a non-partisan basis," he said today, "so that means we have to focus on the Constitution and we have to represent liberals and conservatives and everyone in between.  So we are a hosting platform for these debates rather than take one side or another."

Upcoming topics include "Oliver Wendell Holmes and the First Amendment," and "Detention, Interrogation, and the Constitution."
