Many Eagles Fans Staying Optimistic After Home Opener Loss

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Fans had high hopes today after Monday night's impressive debut, but tonight, the Eagles faithful are reacting to game two's disappointing ending.

Overall, the fans Eyewitness News spoke with say the game, it was exciting and it was intense -- but bottom line, we lost (see related story).

They say it is clear we're talking about a team with room for improvement, but they say, it is too early and they're not giving up on their Birds just yet.

"We know they could have won it. I'm proud of my home team," said a fan.

It was a tough end to a day that started on a high note. The game, so close, these fans wanted to believe their Birds would pull through.

"We stayed the whole time because we wanted to see if they would win," said a fan.

It is true these die-hard fans may have gone home disappointed on this day, but they say, they are pumped to see their Eagles soar this season.

"One loss is nothing. We're going to go forward. We're going to win. We're going to do everything we can to be number one," said a fan.

"Looking forward to Thursday night," said another fan.

These fans are already talking about the game on Thursday night, as Andy Reid returns to Philadelphia with his new team, the Kansas City Chiefs.
