Brandywine River Museum Kicks Off Fall Concert Series Friday Night

By Molly Daly

CHADDS FORD, Pa. (CBS) - The Brandywine River Museum's fall "Music on the Brandywine" concert series kicks off Friday night.

The Wyeths will rub elbows with the Gershwins at Friday's inaugural concert, an exploration of the great American songbook by Andy Kahn's All-Star Jazz Trio. The Museum's Hillary Holland says it's a chance to enjoy great music in a beautiful setting.

"We want people to experience the museum in different ways. It makes for a lovely evening to be able to see the art, see the beautiful environment outside the floor-to-ceiling windows, and hear some wonderful music, too."

Concert-goers are also invited to explore the museum's collection, with works by three generations of Wyeths, including patriarch N.C.'s paintings and illustrations for Treasure Island and Last of the Mohicans.

"The concerts start at 7:30, but the galleries open at 6pm. We're open late for these special concerts, so people can tour all of our exhibitions, followed by jazz music, and there's food and drink available, too."

Tickets are $25. To find out more, visit www.brandywinemuseum.org
