Body Of Man Who Jumped Into Delaware River Recovered

TINICUM TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) -- A man who jumped into the Delaware River in Delaware County early Sunday morning has been found dead.

Police identify the victim as 23-year-old Robert Miller of Glen Mills.

Authorities say Miller's body was pulled from the river around 11 a.m. about 75 feet north of Golden Point Marina in Tinicum Townsip.

The initial call came in around 3:30 a.m. from Miller's girlfriend who told police he had jumped into the river, went under a dock and did not resurface.

The Coast Guard and marine units from local fire companies conducted a water rescue, but after an extensive search the effort became a recovery mission.

Miller's body was taken to Delaware County Medical Examiners Office to determine the official cause of death, which is believed to be an accidental drowning.
