Traveling Bridal Tour Stops In Philadelphia

By Syma Chowdhry

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It is a Bridal Bonanza for a good cause!

"We're a traveling bridal tour," said Amy Paulishak with Brides Against Breast Cancer. "We travel to over 120 cities each year."

Brides Against Breast Cancer is an organization that sells new and gently used wedding gowns. The group and many other wedding vendors took over the ballroom at the Le Meridian Hotel this weekend and word traveled fast among brides-to-be.

"I'm a nurse. I work at Christiana Hospital in Delaware," said Michelle D'Antonio, "so this is a great event."

"It just seems like a great cause," said Julianna Szczerba, "so I'd rather give my money here then just to a boutique."

For every dollar they make selling these gowns -- 80 cents goes towards women fighting breast cancer and their families.

"We find support programs, nutrition classes, exercise classes, for the whole family," said Paulishak.

With discounts from 25% to 85%...

"They start at $75 up to about $4,000," Paulishak said. "The gowns that are higher priced, like $4,000 in that range, they would originally retail in a boutique for close to $20,000."

And with this many discounted gowns to chose from - what bride wouldn't want to join in?

"It's always good to get a discount," D'Antonio said, "but the extra is you are doing good and helping for breast cancer research."

Making a blushing bride's day even more beautiful!
