PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Philadelphia Orchestra kicks off a new season with an opening night concert and gala Wednesday, September 25th at the Kimmel Center for Performing Arts.

Anne-Sophie Mutter

Internationally acclaimed violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter is set to perform.

"It has what an opening night is asking for, which is the technical somersault and just the wow factor…you can just lean back and enjoy the music for its sheer beauty, enjoy the musicians playing, and just have a great time," says Mutter.

Music director Yannick Nézet-Séguin returns for a second season with the Philadelphia Orchestra.

"He's such a wonderful, insightful musician. Truly also a great conductor of opera, which comes in handy when you have to accompany soloists. I can't wait to see what his collaboration with his own orchestra is like," Mutter says.
