BLOG: FREE College Planning Workshops

By Jim Donovan:   Planning for a child to enter college can overwhelm any parent, so when I hear of workshops that may be able to help, I always like to share the news.

I just learned that Gloucester County Community Church will host FREE monthly College Planning Workshops for high school students and their families from September 2013 through March 2014.   All workshops will be held at the church in the John M. Sofia Center.  359 Chapel Heights Road, Sewel NJ, 08080.  Registration is not required to attend.

The College Planning Workshops will be taught by Heather Medina, who has 18 years experience in college admissions and holds BA and MA degrees from Stockton College.  The series of workshops are designed to help students and parents successfully navigate through the entire college search process.  The sessions will supply access to other college planning resources, as well.  The workshop schedule is:

September 14, 2013 - 10am - College Search

October 12, 2013 - 10am - College Application Process

November 9, 2013 - 10am - Scholarships

January 11, 2014 - 10am - Financial Aid, Part 1

February 8, 2014 - 10am - Financial Aid, Part 2

March 8, 2014 - 10am - Selecting The Right College

A continental breakfast will be provided for each session.  For more information on this event (856)582-0222.
