Philadelphia Native Reaches Finals Of BET's 'Sunday Best' Singing Competition
By David Madden
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A Philly native is on the cusp of Gospel Music superstardom, as she competes for the top spot on a reality show on the BET network this weekend. And she's looking for your vote.
Kefia Rollerson, 32, lives in Delaware now and has been singing God's praises almost all of her life. Twice she's competed on the "Sunday Best" show.
Now, she's in the finals and could win a recording contract, $20,000 and a new car. But win or lose, she's got a plan.
"I want to go outside of the whole music thing. I want to do a shoe line for big girls. I want to do a clothing line for big girls. There's a lot of stuff that I want to do besides music."
Kefia is competing against 30-year-old Detroit resident Tasha Page-Lockhart. You can see their performances and vote for yourself at http://www.bet.com/shows/sunday-best.html
Goldwire McClendon of Philadelphia was also a finalist on "Sunday's Best" in 2010.
