Woman Charged In Death Of Baby Found In Pa. Pub

EASTON, Pa. (AP) — A Pennsylvania woman is being held without bail after authorities say she gave birth to a baby then left him to die in a sports bar toilet.

Amanda Catherine Hein was arraigned Monday on a single count of criminal homicide in the death of the baby discovered in the pub's bathroom last week.

Court documents say the 26-year-old Allentown woman admitted giving birth to the baby boy, wrapping him in a plastic bag from a garbage container and placing him in the toilet tank. Authorities say she had not told anyone she was pregnant.

An autopsy found the baby was viable and born alive. A cleaning crew found its body the next day inside Starters Pub in Bethlehem, about 30 miles north of Philadelphia.

Court records do not list an attorney for Hein.
