Police: Wanted Fugitive Arrested At Jersey Shore

By Dan Wing

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Philadelphia police say a wanted fugitive has been arrested at the Jersey Shore on Friday.

Philadelphia police say 37-year-old Dennis Woods, who also goes by the name Dennis Boyce, was taken into custody Friday afternoon at the Aruba Motel in North Wildwood.

Woods was identified by authorities as the alleged mastermind of a string of ATM robberies and pharmacy break-ins earlier this month (see previous story). Police have connected the group to the robbery of 10 ATMs at banks in the city, and say they have gotten away with more than $100,000 in cash along with prescription drugs.

Police say the group of thieves would use various tools including crowbars and blowtorches in their crimes, cutting power to buildings and setting fires to get the cash they were after.

Dennis Woods will be extradited to Philadelphia later this week. He also has active warrants out of North Wildwood and Deptford Township.
