Philadelphia Represented By Two Chefs On Latest Season Of Top Chef

By Hadas Kuznits

PHILADELPHIA (CBS)  --  Two Philadelphia chefs are appearing this Fall in the Bravo competition show "Top Chef."

Nicholas Elmi, formerly of Rittenhouse Tavern and Le Bec Fin and Jason Cichonski of Ela will be representing Philadelphia on the show Top Chef this October.

For Elmi, this opportunity has been a long time in the making.

"It was probably four years ago that I was contacted by Top Chef. The past couple of years I've been busy having kids and opening a restaurant. I don't know, I guess it's all about timing," Elmi says.

Elmi says the first time he met the judges was a bit surreal, "It kind of snaps you into the moment. It's kind of surreal that this is actually happening. you're kind of like oh this is gonna be fun this is gonna be great and then all of a sudden, boom you're in the middle of a challenge, a show, it's time to make this happen, now!"

Top Chef season 11 from New Orleans premiers on Bravo October 2nd.
