PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — An overnight accident on the Schuylkill Expressway involving five cars, including a Pennsylvania State Police cruiser, sent two state troopers to the hospital.

The crash happened around 2:30 a.m. Saturday along the westbound side of I-76 at Montgomery Drive.

Authorities say a state police car was involved in a five-car crash and two troopers had to be taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where they were treated for minor injuries and later released.

Police did not release any information regarding the other drivers involved in the crash.

The accident forced the closure of the westbound lanes of the expressway at Montgomery Drive for about 40 minutes.
