ROCK HALL, Md. (CBS) -- This is the weekend when swashbucklers who live pirate fantasies set a course for Rock Hall, Maryland, on the eastern shore of the Chesapeake Bay.

It's a pirate invasion of the Rock Hall beach, for a party on the sand with grog and grub aplenty, pirate singalongs, swordplay on Main Street, a rum tasting, and the Buccaneers' Ball.

Pirates'  Weekend here has exploded, with thousands of costumed corsairs arriving by land and sea.

About those costumes: Cap'n Mark Einstein, our top sea dog, says you can spend thousands for a pirate rig, or simply start at a Goodwill store.

"Find some old baggy clothes, tear 'em up a little bit, and put on a big, wide belt," he advises.  "Get a plastic sword, an eye patch, and a pirate's hat."

And you're ready to go.

But for Lady Pirates and Pirates' Ladies, First and Only Mate Suzanne Einstein suggests one additional touch:

"The more bling, the better," she suggests.

There'll be booty galore from Friday to Sunday, and it's less than two hours away.
