Police: Bicyclist Dead In Bensalem Accident
BENSALEM, Pa., (CBS) – Police say a bicyclist is dead after striking the rear wheels of a tractor trailer in Bensalem Wednesday.
Bensalem police responded at about 1:40 p.m. to Galloway Road at the entrance to the Race Track stable gate.
Police say their investigation found that a tractor trailer was exiting the stable gate and was turning onto Galloway Road. According to police, a female riding her bicycle inside the stable gate was travelling towards the entrance when she struck the rear wheels of the tractor trailer.
Police say the female died from her injuries.
Galloway Road was closed between Richlieu and Mechanicsville Roads or about four hours, but is now re-opened.
The accident remains under investigation.
